"Don’t just enter awards as a woman in business—approach them as a true businessperson! Be professional, have a purpose, and always strive for excellence (not perfection). Your work ethic and integrity will inspire others far beyond the accolades."

What was the inspiration behind your work/business?
My own path. When I started out, I had a string of frustrating experiences with recruiters who seemed to know nothing about the roles they pitched—or the industry, for that matter. So, when I launched my own agency, I made it my mission to flip the script. I wanted to provide candidates and clients with real market guidance and a personal touch. For me, the best part of the job is connecting people with career opportunities that truly fit them. Meeting new people and helping them crush their career goals feels like second nature—and honestly, I’m lucky to love what I do every single day!

What are you most excited about in your work/business?
Do the best work that I can possibly do. What fires me up as a recruiter, It's the discipline to get results, even on those days when you're just not feeling it. That’s the secret sauce—sticking to the grind to create long-lasting change. But beyond the hustle, it’s all about making a real impact. I don’t treat people like transactions; I connect with them as humans. My goal is to be more than just 'the recruiter'—I want to be the person they celebrate their career wins with and the first call when they're ready for the next big opportunity

What has been the most challenging thing about starting your work/business?
I’ve faced my fair share of challenges—navigating a male-dominated industry, being an immigrant with a strong Spanish accent, and living with dyslexia. But instead of letting that hold me back, I used it to fuel my growth. Dyslexia? It taught me to think outside the box and get creative with solutions. Every obstacle made me stronger, more humble, and empathetic—and now, I’m here to help others push through and thrive just like I did.

What advice would you give to other women thinking about starting a work/business?
Take yourself seriously—or no one else will. Own your story because it’s what gives you credibility in what you’re doing now and where you’re headed. Don’t just take a seat at the table—own that seat! You’ve got something unique to offer. Remember, you’re not alone, but your merits stand tall on their own. And the golden rule? Be strong, work hard, and whatever you do—never, ever give up

How did the awards help you in your work/business?
The awards celebrate a journey of hard work, but they also serve as a gateway to connect with incredible women who have become cherished friends along the way

What advice would you give to other women thinking about entering the awards?
Don’t just enter awards as a woman in business—approach them as a true businessperson! Be professional, have a purpose, and always strive for excellence (not perfection). Your work ethic and integrity will inspire others far beyond the accolades.

What has been the best thing about starting your own work/business?
Running a recruitment agency can be tough—admin tasks, responsibilities, and juggling it all can feel overwhelming. But why do I love it? Because I get to create my own working environment, blaze my own trail, and most importantly, change lives by helping people leverage their careers. That’s what truly fulfills me!

What’s happening next in your work/business?
I'm currently full-time as a Global Corporate TA for Newsweek, which means my recruitment business is on pause. The future? Uncertain but exciting! I’m passionate about working with international clients and eager to dive into mandates across the Americas, the UK, the EU, and Switzerland. Instead of overthinking, I focus on short-term goals and giving my all every day—because life is unpredictable, and we need to make the most of TODAY!

What are your big plans for the future?
My top priority is work-life balance. Mental health and physical strength come first, along with quality time spent with family and friends. Those that my biggest plans. I will cherish more moments with good books, travel, inspiring tunes, and my 'me time' to recharge and tap into my creative side—that’s when the best ideas flow! Work has always been important, but I’ve learned to work smart and play always. Life is all about having fun and making memories with the ones you love!
