Eva Diaz Claver is the CEO and founder of STEM Women Congress and Global STEM Women, initiatives dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). With a background in journalism and marketing and communications in STEM, Eva’s vision has been shaped by her own experience after working in different technological companies and organizations. Passionate about closing the gender gap, Eva created STEM Women Congress to inspire, empower, and connect women and girls in STEM across the globe. Her leadership focuses on creating opportunities for young girls, fostering confidence, and amplifying diverse voices in STEM industries

When did you start your business?
6 years ago in Barcelona. Now we are in 6 different countries: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Canada, Colombia and Brasil.
What was the inspiration behind your work/business?
My family, but specially all women in my family who have sacrifice so much for me. I’m grateful to all of them and also to my community to walk with me and also to shape me in the person that I’m today.
What are you most excited about in your work/business?
Seen the magic that every time we launch an STEM WOMEN CONGRESS in a country the magic happened, how the SWC brings together people who didn't know each other before, connecting and collaborating to create new opportunities and activities that accelerate change towards a more just and equitable society, getting more girls and women into STEM.
What has been the most challenging thing about starting your work/business?
The fear. The fear of being alone, the fear of being called crazy, of your vision not being understood.
What advice would you give to other women thinking about starting a work/business?
Don’t hesistate. Take the risk. Go for it. When you know you know and when you are thinking about starting a business or a new job position is because you are ready. The universe doesn’t send you anything that you can’t handle. You are worth it of better things and we, as a community, will be here to support you in all your path.
Why did you enter the Women Changing the World Awards?
Peace approach me on Linkedin and I thought it was a fantastic idea. For me the WCTWA is a great opportunity to create new links with fabulous women which who I couldn’t connect before.
What did you enjoy the most about being part of the awards?
I think connecting with other women, specially because with some we have become friends. There are so many emotions during the event that this moments connect us in an incredible bond full of solidarity and support that is difficult to break.
What surprised you most about the awards?
The fabulous stories behind every women. The challenges they have faced or they are still facing. How strong and smart are these women and the fire that move her to continue fighting despite the adversities.
How did the awards help you in your work/business?
They gave me recognition and awareness, a sense of credibility that someone from outside of my country gives you this recognition. A kind of credibility for my project.
What advice would you give to other women thinking about entering the awards?
Don’t hesitate. Come. You Will enjoy it. It’s a great experience. You will meet great women, fabulous stories of fighting women who overcome obstacles and they are anonymous heroes, and they deserve to be known.
What has been the best thing about starting your own work/business?
All the people who I’m meeting with. I enjoy every personal story, every congress we organize, how we can learn for the local vision the similar problems that different women from all around the world, and how science and technology are so important.
What’s happening next in your work/business?
Next is we are going to open the Chapter in Brasil next year and we will do the SWC Sao Paolo May 2025.
What are your big plans for the future?
I would love to bring this Project to every country in the world and to have funds to do it possible. To create accions based on the STEM WOMEN Annual report to accelerate the change.
