My name is Marisa Monteiro Borsboom, I am a Portuguese lawyer currently living in the Netherlands. I continue to work as a lawyer in the traditional sense, but also in a new model, and in business through my work in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Netherlands Portugal, and last year, I was honored with the Women Changing the World Award in the Women in Corporate category.

What was the inspiration behind your work/business?
The inspiration behind my work/business stems from a passion for fostering strong ties between the Netherlands and Portugal. My aim is to facilitate business and cultural collaboration, contributing to the growth of both nations.
What are you most excited about in your work/business?
I am most excited about the opportunity to bridge cultural and professional gaps, creating synergies that benefit businesses and individuals in both countries.
What has been the most challenging thing about starting your work/business?
The most challenging aspect of starting my work/business was navigating the complexities of international business and legal practices. Adapting to different regulatory frameworks required careful consideration and strategic planning.
What advice would you give to other women thinking about starting a work/business?
To other women considering starting their own business, I would advise embracing challenges as opportunities for growth, staying true to your vision, and building a strong network of support.
