Meet Mirna Al Ali, from HerStory: Celebrating Inspirational Women

My name is Mirna Al Ali, and I am the founder of HerStory: Celebrating Inspirational Women. With over four years of experience as the Executive Support Services Department Manager at Maximus KSA, I've built HerStory as a platform dedicated to highlighting the powerful journeys of women who break barriers and drive meaningful change. Through HerStory, we amplify voices that inspire courage, resilience, and empowerment.

"Believe in the impact of your voice and vision. Don’t let challenges discourage you; every step, even the difficult ones, is part of building something meaningful."

When did you start your business?
I founded HerStory over year ago, growing it alongside my professional journey and transforming it into a platform for women’s empowerment.

What was the inspiration behind your work/business?
My inspiration came from a personal challenge five years ago when I faced underestimation from a female colleague. That experience sparked a commitment to uplift and support other women, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to be heard, valued, and celebrated.

What are you most excited about in your work/business?
I’m most excited about the continuous evolution of HerStory, especially as it expands beyond storytelling into empowerment events and programs that bring real-world support and connections for women worldwide.

What has been the most challenging thing about starting your work/business?
One of the most challenging aspects of starting HerStory has been building awareness and fostering engagement. In the beginning, reaching the right audience and creating a community around our mission required continuous effort, from crafting meaningful content to organizing impactful events. It took time and persistence to establish HerStory as a trusted platform, but seeing women connect and feel empowered by our initiatives has made every challenge worthwhile.

What advice would you give to other women thinking about starting a work/business?
Believe in the impact of your voice and vision. Don’t let challenges discourage you; every step, even the difficult ones, is part of building something meaningful.

Why did you enter the Women Changing the World Awards?
I entered because the awards align with my vision for HerStory, recognizing and supporting women who make a difference. It was an incredible opportunity to amplify our mission on a larger scale.

What did you enjoy the most about being part of the awards?
Meeting other incredible women changemakers and exchanging stories of resilience and success was deeply inspiring.

What surprised you most about the awards?
The level of camaraderie among participants was a pleasant surprise. There was a genuine sense of solidarity and support that added to the experience.

How did the awards help you in your work/business?
Being a finalist brought new visibility to HerStory, introducing the platform to a broader audience and connecting me with like-minded leaders.

What advice would you give to other women thinking about entering the awards?
Go for it! The experience itself is incredibly fulfilling, and it opens doors to a supportive network of changemakers.

What has been the best thing about starting your own work/business?
The best part has been watching HerStory grow into a space where women find support, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.

What’s happening next in your work/business?
We’re expanding HerStory Events to reach more women and foster real-time connections and mentorship opportunities, with exciting collaborations on the horizon.

What are your big plans for the future?
My goal is to make HerStory a global hub for women’s empowerment, creating initiatives and partnerships that enable women everywhere to thrive.
